How It Works

  1. Assign half the class to be "experts" on a topic (they get 10 minutes to study materials). The other half are "journalists" who must prepare 5 questions without knowing the content.

  2. Journalists interview experts for 10 minutes. Then roles reverse with a different topic.

  3. Debrief: Which questions actually worked?

  4. Which ones fell flat?

  5. What made the difference?

Why It Works

Simulates real-world inquiry situations (interviews, research, doctor visits) and teaches students that the quality of your questions determines the quality of the information you receive.
